I have been happily helping writers meet their deadlines and achieve their goals for more than a decade.
My path to academic editing began while I was a student at a liberal arts college, where I worked at the writing center. I also served as an English tutor for international students. In graduate school, I became a grant writer, funding my education with fellowships and grants, and helping other students write their grants. I also began editing for professors, and developed and ran a mentorship program - and I've been helping scholars with their writing ever since.
I hold a Ph.D. in American history, and am a member of SCBWI, AWP, the Authors Guild, WEHN, CCWH, and other professional organizations.
My research and writing has been supported by the Vermont Historical Society, American University, Mellon Travel Grants, the Nantucket Historical Association, Splendid Mola, All Voices, Monson Arts, the Highlights Foundation, California Arts and Cultures, and SCBWI.
My writing and photography have been published both here and abroad in journals, anthologies, newspapers and other media outlets.
When I am not at my desk or the library, you will find me out in nature working on my photography (found throughout this website, at select galleries, and in my Getty portfolio).
